My Responsibilities

I will teach my students the language of music. I will provide them with the necessary tools and skills to help them discover their unique talents and express emotion and feeling through music. My studio has a positive and enthusiastic environment and I will tailor the curriculum to enhance your child’s needs and abilities. It is my goal to help each student feel the joy of learning music and foster a connection that will have a lasting and positive impact.

I commit to punctuality, and come to every lesson with prepared materials.  I commit to continually improve my own music studies and will share my joy and learning. I commit to encourage students to succeed within realistic expectations and personal goals.

Student & Family Responsibilities

I ask that my students commit to daily, quality practicing.  I ask them to commit to opening their minds and hearts to develop a love for music.  I expect them to ask questions and be eager and ready to learn at their lessons.  I expect them to do their best to be prepared when they arrive for their lessons and complete their assignments.

I ask that the parents of students be involved and supportive.  I expect them to create a positive and uplifting environment where they can practice.  I expect them to stay informed and interested in what their child is trying to accomplish.  And of course, to remain positive and praise their success.

Communication is extremely important to me!  Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions or concerns.  It is helpful to know if there are things going on at school or at home (not specific details) that might impact one of my students.

Because I am teaching every day, the best way to contact me is through text at 801.550.7866.  If I receive a phone call, I most likely will not pick up, but I will return your message as soon as possible. For messages not requiring immediate response, you can email me at ALMUSICALEX@GMAIL.COM.

Teacher Absences:  The teacher reserves the right to miss lessons due to illness or professional commitments. I will always do my best to reschedule the lesson during the same week. I will also do my best to notify the student 24 hours in advance if there are any changes.

Practice:  The piano should be located in a quiet room away from distractions.  Students are required to practice a minimum of five days per week and meet the minimum practice time requirement as determined by the teacher. Students are required to fill out their practice log with a parent’s signature.

Performances: Two recitals will be held each year, as well as other performance opportunities.  The Spring recital and Winter recital are mandatory.  Recital pieces are expected to be well prepared and memorized.

I look forward to learning together - welcome to the Studio!

Sincerely yours,
